Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecologist

Dr Yasmin trained in Queensland as an obstetrician and gynaecologist across various hospitals, then completed a fellowship in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne in 2004.
She spent two years at the Mayo Clinical Rochester Minnesota where she undertook research and developed guidance on adolescent breast conditions. She completed a PhD in 2013 on cervical cancer in young women. She has worked at the Royal Children and Royal Women’s Hospital for almost 20 years, and is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She has authored over 100 publications in young women’s health.
Dr Yasmin has been the President of the Australian New Zealand society of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (2011-2016), and is the current Secretary-General of the International Federation of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (Federation Internationale de Gynaecologie Infantile et Juvenile).
Dr Yasmin has experience in a range of gynaecological conditions affecting girls and young women such as menstrual issues, PCOS, puberty and contraception.
She is a pioneer in paediatric and adolescent oncofertility, fertility preservation and reproductive survivorship care after cancer. She chairs the ANZ Consortium in Oncofertility (ANZCO) and is on the Practice committee of the international Oncofertility Consortium.
Dr Yasmin has been a finalist for the Vic Health awards 2019 and also the Australian Human Rights Medal 2021.
Dr Yasmin’s aim is to provide sensitive and age-appropriate care, which supports a young person’s health, wellbeing and dignity and helps them live their best life.
