Background and Education

Dr Betty completed her medical education at the University of Cambridge in the UK and General Paediatric training at the Oxford University Hospitals. As part of her subspecialty training upon returning back home to Australia in 2013, she worked as a Fellow in Paediatric Endocrinology in a combined clinical and research fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Betty works in a public setting at the Monash Children’s Hospital and privately at BHC for Kids.  She is a mentor and Teaching Associate for medical students at Monash University with a passion for medical education, she completed the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching at the University of Melbourne with Honours.

Clinical Interests & Experience

Dr Betty has experience across a broad range of health settings (rural and community based) and across many paediatric disciplines including working in teams in specialist clinics managing children with complex issues and seeing children with neurodevelopmental differences such as ASD. She can help children and families through daily routines with challenging issues around eating, toileting, school refusal, concentration, mood and behaviour, sleeping difficulties, snoring and fatigue. She also has a particular interest in follow up of premature infants. With a strong passion in paediatric endocrinology Betty has experience in managing growth, puberty and thyroid disorders, as well as childhood obesity.

Profile and Philosophy

Dr Betty is a friendly, kind and dedicated doctor who cares for children ranging from newborn babies to late adolescence. She thrives professionally on providing high quality care by working closely with multidisciplinary health clinicians and school staff to help assess, manage and empower her patients and their families to fulfill their health goals, supporting their challenges and creating pathways of communication within the wider community. Being a mum and a stepmum, Betty understands and loves being part of the ‘family village’ it takes to make every child shine.
